Mr. Bird and the Rose

This was a fun challenge. There were so many options but I wanted to do one that had a little bit of spring in it.

Riley Blake has lots of cute free patterns (https://www.rileyblakedesigns.com/free-patterns) and this one is part of the Yellow Rose of Texas.

All fabric is from my stash - hence the scrappy greens - if you look closely you may find a turtle in there!!!

Although, since I was traveling for work, I could only attempt a portion of the pattern. This is my modified version that I could accomplish in the two days I was back from my travels.

Alexander Henry's fabric collections are always so inspiring. I had picked up a fat quarter of their Birdland fabric (similar here: https://www.fabric.com/buy/0536915/alexander-henry-in-the-kitchen-birdland-navy) on one of my work trips. It was fun to have Mr. Robin come to life in this challenge. He is raw edge appliqued.
